Sync erased my work last on moving tasks


I spent An hour last night getting my inbox to zero. This morning I open Todoist on both iPad and iPhone and after syncing most of work is undone. My tasks from yesterday. Are back and overdue. I only have 2 items in the inbox but this were categorized last night as well. What happened?

Hello Adrienne,

Please tell me - did you make the changes offline or online? Can you access the latest state on the web and/or see the changes in the latest backup (Settings -> Backups)?

Online on my ipad. I went to back ups. I made the changes from 11pm to a little after 12 am. the backups are around 5 am and the don't look like they took my changes.

now I have 3 inbox items on my phone but only 1 on the computer.

Does everything look like it should on the web version and the problem is on the iPad, or is all of it broken now, besides the Inbox difference?

There aren't many ways data can be lost, being offline when making changes, and not allowing it to sync before turning off the device can cause this. Please log out of the iPad app, log out of it on the web version, and then back in again, does it resolve the issue? Now doing this would clear any data not synced, but it should already be synced if you are indeed online. Do you see any red triangles in the sync icon area, if you add a task now, does it sync?
