New Task jumps to due date

Using the website version of todoist:
1) Currently viewing (od, tod, tom)
2) click the + icon to add a new task
3) task is defaulted to Inbox
4) Enter title then a due date let's say thursday
5) upon clicking enter (or save) the view jumps to thursday

Why wouldn't it stay where I am as I am working on something and just needed to create a quick task to go into my inbox so I can review it later?

It does the same thing even if I don't assign it a due date or any labels.

I tried on the iPhone app and it doesn't do it there.

I just saw that someone else asked this as well and you reported it as a bug in the quick add functionality that you are working on. If this is the same please close this question.

Hi Ben,

This is the intended behavior. When you create a task for the Inbox, and no date, it will change to the inbox view. Same goes for date based views, it will jump to that date.

We will consider changing this in future updates.

Thanks. It just takes away from productivity to have to click back to today or in my case a favorite in IE as the "today" link at the top is only (od, tod) not (od, tod, tom) which is the default view.

I agree with Ben. Really annoying that the date jumps to the new task date, it just doesn't make sense. In most use cases, the user would want to the stay in the current view.
