Questions about Todoist mobile - reordering tasks/offline usage

AD

Hi!

I am using Todoist Mobile on my Windows Phone, and I can't reorder my tasks in the "Manage tasks" window. I think it's because of the touchscreen/scrolling.. If you could make e.g. an up and down arrow-button-thingy, that would be great :)

Another problem of mine is that the only way I can view the Todoist mobile site offline is if I opened my mobile web-browser, and it stayed in memory/dormant/tombstoned (I don't know the exact correct term for this). If I close the browser completely, then re-open it, it will try to refresh the page, and of course it won't load because there's no internet connection. I tried this in IE mobile and in UC browser as well. Is this the browsers' "fault"?

Regards,
Attila

Hello Attila,

Regarding the offline accessibility - this may be the browser's fault. Not all mobile browsers fully support HTML5 (still), but those that do, will permanently store the app in their cache so that you could open the site even if you're already offline and have closed the browser before.

Regarding reordering tasks - please clarify, what happens exactly when you try to do it? You click on "manage tasks", then you try to drag & drop them by the handle on the right and at what point does it not work? Can you not move any tasks there? Can you not save the new order?

Best regards,
David

Hi David!

When I touch the handle the task becomes "blue"/selected as it should be, but if I try to move it, the whole page is scrolled instead. The selected task moves a tiny bit for just a very brief moment (as I observed) then the page is scrolled and the selection ends immediately, so the whole page stays in the same order. I tried it with different angles and projects/tasks and whatnot, nothing worked I'm afraid. (Tested in IE and UC browser on WP8)

About offline-access: I tried another thing on my desktop PC, in Google Chrome: without internet connection, the web-browser version of Todoist works like a charm as always, and when I tried to refresh the page, it worked fine afterwards as well, and I could re-open it after I closed the tab/window. I tried the same with the mobile version of the site, and it does work offline as well, but if I click refresh, or close the tab/window, then re-open/reload it, it does not work. I am not trying to be stubborn here, but shouldn't the mobile-version keep operating in Chrome as the web-browser version does (after refreshing the page/re-opening the site)?

Regards,
Attila

Atilla,

Unfortunately, the /m mobile site isn't as fully supported and updated by us as all other apps, plugins, add-ons etc :( We will consider creating a dedicated Windows Phone app in the future, some third-party devs are also working on some WP apps.

Please try to get another mobile browser - one of them would have to work correctly with the site. Alternatively, you could actually try to access the full web-app on your mobile browser and try to drag & drop tasks by the handle on the left side of the check box (normally visible when hovering over it, which unfortunately won't be possible on touch controlled interfaces). To get to the full site, please use this URL: https://todoist.com/m/forceRegular

Best regards,
David

Oh, I see. :/

I tried viewing the desktop site with my mobile browsers, and after I clicked the top-right-button, which then expanded into a list. But I can't seem to find the Login "button" there. I can only see the lists of all of the products, then Pricing, and then Signup.

Attila

Attila,

Thank you for your report, this indeed seems like a separate issue and I've passed it to the developers now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Hi Attila,

This should now be fixed.
