A calendar view

I like/love todoist - in theory. I paid for the premium. The biggest challenge is that it is time-consuming to move a bunch of tasks forward on the calendar - day to day or a couple weeks.

I use Google Calendar and use their tasks but there is no hierarchy or project view - which is limiting. However, I can view several weeks of a calendar and drag tasks between dates. THIS IS HUGELY CONVENIENT.

Going to each tasks line and changing the date in todoist is awful.

I am less looking for a Google Calendar integration unless it is 2 way and immediate. But have you thought about having a calendar view where I can drag tasks from date to date similar to Google Calendar's tasks?

Hi Mathew,

Yes, we are asked all the time for a calender view, to update the iCal sync and many other similar issues. We do hope we can implement things like this in the near future.

Please head to our votebox as there are a few suggestions like this. http://todoist.com/Vote/

Got tired of the Google Machine and searched for any.do for firefox and found todoist. WOW! Did I say WOW! Great program, jumped right into the Premium. I am in agreement with Matthew....a calendar view and multiple task/project select/move would make the app even better.

Kindest Regards,

Strongly need calender view... Todoist is so great but without calender view it is rather difficult to manage the tasks and to do effective planning...

Is there any way to view tasks that you have put into the future above 7 days - this is very frustrating!

You can type "10 days" or "30 days" or any amount into the search to find those tasks.

I just started using Todoist & really like it, but it does need a Calendar view (and a Windows 8 native app!) - not only is it practical in terms of moving tasks around (like what Task cracker does for outlook), it's really helpful for planning for those who are more visual/graphical thinkers.

I love todoist and it's so simple and easy to use, but a calendar view would make this app absolutely perfect. When is that coming?

In total agreement with the calendar view option. Even if it was just viewable on the web, that would at least be a vast improvement.

Still no calendar view?
I started using Google calendar to assign my weekly tasks, and using todoist and evernote as a tank where to get my tasks from.
it's not a nice path that I don't know wehere it will lead me to...

Urgently needed! Would like it to be like the view on symphonical. I need to see the past of course including finished, present and future tasks. That would make an easier history than that karma history.

Calender view should come full screen!

I now use the calendar Sunrise, there I see the Google calendar events, Evernote alarms and ToDoist tasks. This is quite enough for me...

Without estimated length the system fails.
You can't calendar your tasks along your meetings without estimated task length

Hmm, for the events I'm using Sunrise (Android + web). TODOS operate categories like days (Tasks in terms of GTD). Even Google has a calendar and tasks as separate modules.

I was asking for a calendar view when I first started using Todoist. I have a feeling that it's not at the top of their list of todo's. I tried Google calendar, didn't like it. I tried Sunrise, didn't like it. I just don't like jumping from app to app. What I do now is use filters, 30,60 & 90. Click your filter then select "s" which will re-order events by date & time of day; tada - calendar. I have been using Todoist this way since last March and have never thought about a calendar again.

PS; love the new IOS gadget!! (star)

just started using todoist. Considering premium but I would like a calender view. This is an important feature for me because I have a lot of recurring tasks. I'd like to see all these recurring tasks visually in a week to see which ones fall on the same day, etc.

Calendar view, please!

Barry McAlister
Replied on Oct 19, 2014 - 19:55 UTC

There is a calendar view already (agenda style), learn to use the filter feature, it's fast, easy, and faster than launching a calendar.. A recurring task won't show up on a calendar. If you have a recurring task, the next task does not show up until you complete the current task, so a calendar view won't help you.

I like Todoists elegant and simple layout, adding too many layers of redundant features will slow the app down and make it more difficult to use. I would like to see enhancements of existing features.

Sorry for not "+"ing this request. (doh)

Well, "agenda style" doesn't suit everybody. It's as simple as that. Although I agree with the elegant and simple layout of todoist which in my opinion is one of its biggest strengths.

Nevertheless, I'd like to see some additional features which could be easily ignored or "switched off" by users who don't need them...

Or, even better, a Native Google calendar API integration that allows to modify tasks in GC and task length definition to "occupy" the right time

My Todoist workflow is scheduled events are placed into google calendar this allow my booking apps to know when I am busy or not. I then run a IfTTT recipe running placing a copy of those calendar event into Todoist.

This is the best hybrid solution. And works better than using iCal to sync to Google Calendar.

+1 for the calendar view. This is a must have! There is a workaround though. I use Sunrise calendar, and it has an integration for Todoist. That makes my todos viewable from the Sunrise Calendar widget.

Official OP Matthew is completely right!

I just had a medical emergency, pushing everything planned by 1.5 days, therefore now I am moving my Timed Task manually, one by one, instead of just dragging them accross, which would be a HUGE time saver.

We can drag an drop Any task (timed, or not) across days, but not being able to do the same for the time of the task lacks a lot in Todo-ist.

This must be a prioritized addition

Dear Todoist Team,

I've been using Todoist happily for about 10 months now, but the impossibility to have a calendar view is now pushing me away from it -> I'll have to go back to more traditional calendar-based apps.

It is essential for me to quickly visualize the daily and monthly load to find time slots and in the current scheme this is not practical.

Hope you eventually come around this.
