Large tick on completion of today tasks

Hi there,

Congratulations on the improvements in Todoist Next.

Is it possible to turn off the large tick that appears when all the tasks for today are completed? It takes up quite a lot of screen space on the next 7 days view.

Hello Simon,

It's not possible to remove it, but please note that it's only visible if the list it literally empty so there would be nothing on it if we would remove the image, but we think it's inspiring to see it and know that all you've had to do for today is completed :)

It would still be nice to remove it, since depending on your process you may still have a lot of things to do even if the tasks that were deadlined for today are finished. For instance I have priority 1 tasks to do ASAP but with no definite dates, and the big green tick on the homescreen pushes the tasks down in my home screen.
I guess everybody has his own way of using TD, so the more flexibility the better
Just wanted to +1 simon's comment.

Hello Philippe,

Please clarify - what filter are you referring to exactly? If you search just for "p1", then you should not see the image even if you don't have tasks due today.

Here is what I want to see in my task list when I open it: tasks overdue & due today, then priority 1/2 tasks with no definite deadline, then tasks with a weekly deadline. I don't want to search for each one each time with a filter; this set of tasks is my global todo. So I have a homepage filter to show me this precise list. On this custom list, the green tick under "today" (which happens twice btw since I have "today" then '7 days' filters on) is pushing the rest of my tasklist down.
Anyways, it's not that important for me, I just wanted to +1 the op

We are looking into exactly when the "big check" is suppose to show, and fix any issues such as you have mentioned. Thanks for the information.

I too find the enormous tick in any today section with no active tasks far too imposing.

I love the idea of celebrating today's job well done (in fact any job well dons), but want a fuller view of the upcoming tasks in ALL of my views that include today, permanently!

Celebrate today's achievement with colours, text and/or symbols in a 'slightly' extended today section, but do not take up 6 cm (approx 1/3 of the vertical screen space) with non productive graphic and text.

I understand that there may be some users who would like this form of valuable affirmation, and so believe that the feature should be 'selectable/configurable'

Sorry for the slightly terse tone of the post, but 1.5 hrs of 'Arrrrgh' moments with my teenage kids between starting and ending the post are my excuse.

Maybe the "tick" could be more of a notification which you can close?
