Todoist for Gmail (chrome) : The page keep freezing

I have the Todoist plugin that allow integration with gmail.

It worked flawlessly until a coupel of days ago. The gmail page now keep "freezing", Chrome keep asking me if I want to close the tab.

When I disable the Todoist plugin (the only one I use in Gmail) the problem stop. Re-enabling the plugin give me about 2 minutes of peace then I get the freeze again.

I could live with this if the message wasn't popping each 15-30sec.

Does it happen to anyone else ? And iTodoist staff working on a solution for this ?

Hi Sebastien,

There does not seem to be any reports of this issue yet. Please tell me do you leave your Chrome running, with your tabs such as Gmail open? How long has it been running?

I know for myself, that Gmail tab can get up to 1GB in RAM and will slow down and cause issues. If you leave Todoist disabled, does it not happen at all, even over time?

Nonetheless, what version of Chrome are you running, do you have any extensions or scripts that change UI or change features?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have an "application" shortcut for Gmail in my taskbar that get rid of the adress bar and give me a quick access to Gmail.

I leave that opened for days sometime. That problement never occured before a couple of days ago. I tried to completly reboot my computer (Windows 8.1) at one point to try to figure out the problem. when I open Gmail the pop-up shows up after maybe 1 or 2 minutes.
And if I deactivate the Todoist plugin (only that one) the problem stop.

Investigating the problem a little more : It occured to me that evenif Chrome tells me the page froze, it didn't. If I was sending an attached file to an email it continue to upload. So I thought about ajax request maybe...

Since I need todoist to live (and it is really a huge part ofy work management) I never thought about leaving it disabled for a long period of time. I'm doing it right now, Igive you feedback once I have some.

Here's an update on the matter :

Version of Chrome : Version 32.0.1700.76 m

I tried turning off the Todoist plugin and let Gmail opened for a long time. Eventually, the problem came back. Turned it on again, the problem came back sooner, turned off, it took again a certain time to come back.

I went on a pretty long walk : turning off Google talk and other stuff I can turn off in gmail. Each time it added some time before the problem occurs.

I cleared my entire cache, cookie, etc. then started to add things in gmail step by step : Todoist, Google Talk, etc. the problem never occured again.

So, Todoist doesn't seems the problem here. They probably changed something in Google Chrome that cause problems with extensions or other background stuff.

So, to anyone reading this thread : clear your cache. I either suspect a problem with Gmail updates or Chrome...
