I installed the Desktop application on my Windows 8 computer. When I click on the Icon it does not come up.
Did you have it running at first and now it does not open? The app stays running in the system tray, down beside the clock. This would be where you can re-open it or close it.
I see the icon in the trey but it goes to the web version and asks me to sign in. I was looking to keep the desktop version sitting on my desktop at all times.
What happens when you sign in, does it load the desktop app, or just stay on the web version?
If you close it from the systemtray, then clear the cache for IE (the app uses it) and then re-open it, what happens?
I cleared the system tray icon. I cleared the cache that was specified for Todist. I tried to re-open the app from program files where it was installed. It keeps going to the web login. I would really like to get the desktop version to work.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times.
Just to clarify - if you double-click on the TD icon in the tray, it will open the web-version in your default browser? Or are you referring to the Windows app itself that actually contains the full website as you would see it through a browser?
Our Windows app always uses the web to connect to you do need to log into your Todoist account through it.
The version of Todoist I see on your home page appears to have a 3d look. There appears to be folder tabs at the top. The version that keeps opening for me whether I select to sign-in online or click on the desktop icon it looks the same without the 3d look.
Please send a screenshot of what you see when you use our app and what other image on our site you're referring to. You can send them to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
Thanks for the screenshot.
What you are seeing is a design we use for our main website. The tabs are part of the browser design that we used, and is not actually part of Todoist. It's a fake browser design to make things appear as they would within your browser. It's cosmetic.
Also, your screenshot is within a Project, and the one on our website is the "Today" which is why you see dots at the right hand side, those refer to which project they are from.
