Desktop interface clean up

Sorry if this is off topic here, but I couldn't find a community page.

I just quickly assembled a user script to adjust the desktop interface's css. The UI felt a little too wide open to me. White space is good, but it verges on disorganized.

Here's the script for you GreaseMonkey fans:

Thanks, this is great. Installed it on Chrome using the Tampermonkey extension.

Is there any way to enable the behavior that only seems to work on the Mac app: when you reduce the window width it automatically hides/shows the left menu nav. For some reason this doesn't work in the browser.

It could certainly be added easily enough with css. If I have a chance I'll add it. Until then, feel free to mod my script to your heart's content :)

Well, now that you got me started I can't stop thinking about it! It's just a simple media query so I appended my script.

UserScripts.org seems to be having some issues at the moment. I'll update my script there once they're back online. In the mean time, you can just add this line to the script yourself:

styleFix.innerHTML+="@media only screen and (max-width: 540px) { #list_holder, #logo { display:none; } #top { height:36px; } #editor, #info_container { padding: 0; vertical-align: top; width: 520px; } }";

While you're in there, you can change the max-width value to customize the breakpoint.

Works great, thanks! :)

Okay, it's updated now with two breakpoints. First the left nav gets condensed a bit to expand the task column, then it and the logo drop out all together for a minimal view. Sorry, no fancy drop in menu like the Mac app. Not yet, anyway ;)

Thanks for the distraction, Rich!

Doesn't exist any more?

The script exists, but UserScripts.org died. I'll see if I can dig up my local copy. I've mostly given up on the poor desktop interface and stick to my phone now.
