Add task at the top of the list

In the inbox, is there a way to have new tasks added at the top of the list, instead of at the bottom? Thanks.

At the moment, unfortunately no. We will of course consider allowing this to be changed in future updates.

I second this request! Just to have the option of picking where a new task should be added. I know other to do list apps have that feature.

Hello Misha,

Although the default task add option adds it to the bottom, you can right-click on any task and choose "Add task above" or "Add task below".

Furthermore, while you're within a project you can use the "a" key to add a task to the bottom and "A" (capital) to add it to the very top.

Best regards,

I add my vote to adding tasks to the top of the list. TD is great, but oddly this is actually a pretty big problem for me. I've never used a task list that adds to the bottom, and now that I have, it's a problem.

I made this same suggestion more than 2 years ago (https://todoist.com/Vote/show/6152/) but no movement thus far. Like Misha, I know of other apps where this is an option users can select under settings. Doing a search in the Votebox area shows at least 6 independent requests (with multiple supporters for each request) for the same feature in both web and iOS platforms. I would encourage users to head over to the Votebox and add their support to one of the existing requests for this feature.

Using "Shift + A" shortcut will do this

Thanks, Manoj. My issue is that, while I much prefer using the web version of Todoist, 90% of the time I'm using Todoist on my iPhone or iPad where such shortcuts are not an option.

+1, although the 'a' vs 'A' thing is neat. I really wish sorting was available on Android, though.

Any news on this? Top option is so much better.
