Sort Order

I am having major problems with sort order... It can be great one day and unpredictable the next. Seems more complicated when I am accessing my list from multiple devices and applications. Any way my list of tasks can be reset or resorted by some means so order is restored?

Right now I have some priority 1 items first, some priority two items next and priority three and four items in a somewhat random order below. Some days I can have a few priority four ones before priority one and some days it shows up as priority 1 then three then two then four.

Hi Tim,

Does this occur on your "Today" view? This is a known issue that happens randomly, that we have yet been able to reproduce. It will normally go away, and fix itself after a certain amount of time, and it is rare.

If you can give any details as to when this happened, what you may have changed or edited, to maybe cause it, it would help use fix it.

It would occasionally happen starting several months ago, now it is never correct. Occasionally it may be OK when I first check it, but later in the day it is scrambled again.

Currently, I have a top priority and the next two levels are in a scattered order with the lowest priority at the bottom.

I've tried refraining from manually sorting to see if that helps... One point I tried creating tasks from scratch to see if that helps and yesterday, I tried avoiding sub project where the problem seemed the worst, but no luck.

Sorry... forgot to go to the first question... Yes... this is Today view.

Please try logging out of all locations (browser, mobile etc) and clear the cache for your browser, log out on iOS (clear data for Android) and then log back in. If using the desktop app for OSX or Windows (clear cache for IE or Safari).

This may help with the issue, but again, it appears randomly so far for us, and we need to be able to 100% reproduce it to fix it. We hope we can find a solution eventually.

I have tried that in the past and just tried it again... No luck...

FYI... I use the Windows, Firefox and Droid clients.

I am having issues with sort order but for the inbox. I have my tasks sorted by date. But when I add a new task it always goes to the bottom of the list instead of ordered by due date. I have to order the list by due date again to put the task in the correct place.

I have this problem, too. Sometimes a workaround can be to reapply "no priority" and then reapply the priority level I want. Hopefully this can be fixed soon, as it is a feature I rely on.

This is 'by design'; new items are not automatically sorted (alphabetically, by Date or by Priority).

@Randy Miller - Bad design IMHO. I'm new to Todoist and really want to use it but this is annoying.

Sort order is becoming a problem for my today view, I have them in a specific order and "today" decides to rearrange them for no particular reason. I have even re-ordered them and it changes back before I can complete them. It is particularly annoying since recurring tasks in the container don't vanish but just add the next day; making it frustrating to find. Hoping to come to a peaceful solution soon. :(

I am having the same problems...sorting is not intuitive, and more difficult than it should be. This makes the entire system far less valuable to me. Plus, your instructions on how to do things are VERY difficult to find, if one can find them at all. Too much work...in order to cut down work. ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING TO MAKE THIS MORE WORKABLE AND INTUITIVE???
