Windows Version does not display foreign characters

AT

After the update today to (I think) 2.61 then new version does not display foreign characters (like German umlauts) and displays empty space instead. The web version does it without any problems.

PS: It would be nice to see the version of the Windows app by clicking on "About" or something similar.

Hello Anton,

You can see the app version through the "About" option if you right-click on the TD icon in your notifications area (system tray).

Regarding the issue itself, please tell me - can you reliably reproduce it? And if so, what are the exact steps to reproduce it? For example - add a new task from within a project using the app and Umlauts will disappear the moment you save it. Or add a task via web, sync and they won't be displayed in the Windows app, but will on the web? Let me know how you can trigger this issue.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,
thanks for the tip concerning the version. The version in question is 2.6.1.

The issue only concerns old tasks. New tasks entered through the web or the Windows version show the foreign chars correctly. I'm not sure in which version I've entered the old tasks. They show correctly in the web version (current stable Chrome on Windows 8.1) , but either empty or garbled in the new Windows version.

Hope that helps.

Anton,

Thank you for clarifying. this was in deed an old bug that we wanted to address in the new version but as it seems it might have remained in old tasks.

Just to make sure it's not a caching issue, please try to right-click on the TD icon in your system tray, choose "Logout" from there, then uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the app and see if it helps.

Best regards,
David
