Manually move tasks (up and down) in a filtered query list

I want to manually move tasks (up and down) in a filtered query display list, particularly when filtered by Priority. This may end up a Votebox feature request, but just in case I'm over-looking something simple I wanted to post here first. For context, I have my Start Page set to the following Custom Query:

"p1, p2, p3"

This successfully displays Priority 1, 2 and 3 tasks in order, as expected. When viewing tasks in a query like this though, I cannot manually move them up or down in the list within their respective priority categories. These are tasks without dates set, as I'm aware tasks with due dates appear first in chronological order (soonest to latest).

Tasks without due dates appear to populate randomly when filtered. Do they show up in the order the task was created, or labeled? Without using due dates, is there a way to manually move tasks within a priority category (i.e. within Priority 1) up and down to a custom order of my choosing, as I can do when viewing them within projects? That feature would be very beneficial.

Best regards,

Casey Clay

Hi Casey,

No, unfortunately this is simply not possible at the moment. Manual sorting is done within Projects, since date based views or priority views, they can all be from different projects, so it's not possible to move them around in that view.

Tasks with no due dates don't exactly have a way they are sorted, they are more of less random. Feel free to vote on this in our Votebox.

Thanks for the reply, Brendon. I will add this as a votebox item unless I find one that already exists.

Best regards,
