Repeated tasks in search results
What the logic is applied to search results list?
(I have used (overdue, 7 days) @mit-weekly | @mit-daily filter)
I expect that the result list should be sorted (or grouped) as well by the common atributes (project, due date, label, ...) O.K. this is not a feature already implemented but what is the logic applied to this results?
- There are multiple sections with the same name (Tomorrow, Today)
- Tomorrow is on first position , Today on second
- The same task is repeated in different due date sections (tommorow and today at the same time)
I really dont understand how it works- looks very weird for me (
First, to make sure it's not a bug (as the multiple sections would suggest), please try to log out, clear your browser's cache, reload the browser and log back in making sure that if you use a bookmark, it points just to https://todoist.com and not any other URL containing any version number.
The query you've posted is basically missing an operator after the brackets, please try:
(overdue, 7 days) & (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily)
(overdue, 7 days) | (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily)
depending on what you want to see in the results. You could also try:
overdue & (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily), 7 days & (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily)
overdue | (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily), 7 days | (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily)
overdue & (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily) | 7 days & (@mit-weekly | @mit-daily)
great, thank you.
You are right, based on your suggestion it works well as expected.
Is there any plans to implement in future user defined sorting and grouping in search results list? For example results grouped by project (or label) and then sorted by due dates.
Although that's not directly on our to-do lists (currently, among other features, we're implementing an option to save filters on the web just as you can on mobile), we may of course consider it in the future and you're welcome to request this feature in our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/
