Some tasks not showing as sub-level

I've made a parent task with a few sub-tasks (for grocery shopping). Of the 5 sub-tasks, 2 of the sub-tasks are also present as non-indented tasks within my "Today" view. If I switch to the "Inbox" view, the non-indented tasks do not display.

I've tried to delete and re-establish the task, but there's always at least 1, if not all, sub-task that's also duplicated as a non-indented task.

If I've not used the terminology correctly or if there's a better method for a grocery list, do let me know. I'm still within 2 weeks as a new user of todoist, or even a task-list manager, so I'm still learning how to best use it to my benefit.

Hello Eric,

This is expected behavior. On the "today" list, or any other search result page, Todoist will show all tasks that meet the search criteria on the same level. This way, we can make sure you won't miss a task that may be a sub-task if you don't expand its parent task, but at the same time you won't have to view other random tasks on this list that may not even be due today just because they have sub-tasks that are.

If both the parent task and its sub-tasks are due today, then in this situation all will be on the list:
- the parent because it's due today
- the sub-tasks because they're due today.
but a parent task will always have the option to expand its structure so you can check what sub-tasks it has to make sure you won't miss something.

Excellent, thanks David! I went back in and double-checked the sub-tasks. The three that were not showing in the "today" view did not have their "due date" set correctly.
