Organizing the Inbox


Hello to the kind people at Todoist:

Is there a way to automatically set the Inbox so that whenever I open it, tasks are organized by due date? They currently seem to be randomly organized or possibly organized by when I last added them.

Hi there,

Within the project, top right corner, beside the name there will be a menu option, this will allow you to sort by date, priority or name. It acts like any other project.

The question comes back to 'auto sort'; if the Inbox acts like all other Projects, then it will be a manual action to organize the sort order by Due Date after the user has added a Task. If no new Tasks have been added, then the Inbox should be displayed with the same sort order the next time it is opened.

Yes you are correct. If you add items to this the Project, it will not be added in such order, you will have to re-order them again. If nothing changes, it will stay the same. We will work on more automatic sorting options, like Today view in the future.

The Android app follows the sort pattern that you have set on the desktop side.
