Turning off automatic labels after mailing in tasks?
After creating an email address to mail to a specific project and sending a task to that address, Todoist automatically generates all kinds of labels for this mail / task. However, 9 out of 10 times these labels are wrong (i.e. contain strange characters) and/or simply don't make sense. Is there any way to tur this off, as I now constantly have to clean up my label list.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to turn this feature off. Todoist should only add labels if there really are any words after @ signs within the email. Do you have email addresses in your signature or maybe links to Twitter accounts or any other text including @ and a word directly after it?
Usually I'm forwarding an email or putting Todoist in bcc to a mail, so all email addresses listed in the header of the mail show up as labels, as well as indeed Twitter accounts.
Is it not possible to only scan the subject line of the mail, and not the entire message?
The email addresses in the header should not be listed as labels, only the subject line and the email body is scanned. If you have one such email that you could forward to firstname.lastname@example.org that would be helpful and at least fix the issue with email addresses in the header being converted to labels.
As for the rest - unfortunately, it's not possible to block this. The only alternative would be to not use the forwarding emails as tasks feature, but instead - use our plugins and link emails as tasks. This would only link the subject, not add a task note with the email's body.
