Outlook tasks not opening after recent update

Hi, I recently updated the Todoist app for Outlook and now it won't open the original email. The task shows up in the task list and is underlined as expected but I can't get it to open.

Hi Aisha,

This is a known issue with the current update which we are still working on another update that should resolve this and many other issues.

For now, even though the previous was more problematic, going back to it will allow these links to work.

We hope to have a proper solution soon.

Is there an update on this Brendon? I have my workflow dependent on this feature now and can't see the emails that I've deleted that were attached to the task that won't open. Thank you.

Hello Henk,

We're very sorry for the inconvenience, we're working on the update right now and hope it'll be available very soon.

However, if you say you've deleted the linked email, do you mean moved it to the Trash folder or completely deleted from there too? If you've deleted it completely, then this will always break the link in the task because it's a local link to this particular message. If it's gone, you won't be able to access this message unless you use the "Email tasks to this project" feature which will convert the message's body into a task note.

For more information about this feature, right click on a project and choose "Email tasks to this project".

Thanks for the information. That was the case with thinking that moving it over automatically took the email with it and I deleted it.

Email linking is working from a task. If you move the email to another folder, email linking does not work.
