Crash on Android 4.4?
I'm getting a crash in Todoist on Android 4.4 as soon as I open the app. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and still get the crash. The traceback points to a failure to start a certain Activity.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience, we'll soon release another update which should address this issue.
Thanks for the prompt response. I hope the update is similarly prompt, because Todoist is one of my most used apps and not having it is already hurting. I even had to resort to another app to record an idea. Imagine the horror!
Well, when do you release the fixed version? I'm unable to manage my tasks for one full week now. Hurry please!
We're very sorry for the delay, the new update will be available very soon.
I am having this issue as well and installed today's update. The problem is still there.
Just to clarify, I have this problem on both a Nexus 5 and Nexus 10. Both are running Android 4.4 and both have had the app uninstalled and reinstalled with today's update. Exact same problem as before.
Today's update was more of a minor change. We still have a much bigger update coming soon, and should resolve this issue.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I hope I didn't come across as impatient. It's really a hats off to you guys for developing such an awesome product that we all want it so bad. I also understand that software is not Lego. I use the system quite a bit and love it.
This should be fixed in the recent update.
It happens on mine very frequently when opening it from the notification window. Still seeing the behavior with the latest version installed. Can I do anything to assist with logs or the like? Thanks.
We are't able to reproduce this issue anymore. If you are rooted, you can use an app such as Catlog (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nolanlawson.logcat) to record when the issue occurs, and that will help us.
Though, have you cleared the data any time recently, or re-installed the app? And to confirm, which version of Android are you running?
I'm on 4.4.2. I'll see about making it happen again. I've since just used the main app instead of clicking on the daily reminder, which was the usual trigger. I'll try to make it crash again and see what happens. I've got that app and will provide the necessary logs if I can make this happen in the near future.
I did clear the data, come to think of it. That's when it started crashing. I had to clear it, because regardless of how many times I synced my data, it would not display what the Mac desktop "client" would display or the web interface. Everything was up to date except for the phone version. That also happens on the desktop version though - I can refresh over and over and over and it won't update (won't show an error and sync successfully) until I truly quit the app and then re-open it.
