Installation Problem (Error 403)

LL

I have tried several times to install Todoist on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop without luck, each time fully removing it and trying again after a computer restart. Each time I have downloaded Todoist from its site and tried to run it as an Administrator. Each time I get "Error 403. Forbidden. Only POST allowed."

Help, please.

Hi Lee,

Unfortunately we are having major issues with our Windows & Outlook plugins which is why we have started to do a complete rewrite of these. We hope to have them released soon.

For now, please uninstall the app, clear the cache for IE and try installing this version. https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/27d69392edce0cbd2d7128b9c74d070d/as/OutlookTodoist.Adx.exe

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hmm. I ran the executable you provided and it ran just fine -- but though it said the installation was finished, it did not put Todoist on my computer. I checked the control panel "uninstall" list and it's not there, nor is there a desktop icon, nor is it on the "All Programs" list on the start menu. Can we say "Gremlin?"

Lee,

I apolgize. I gave you the incorrect link. I gave you our Outlook Plugin install file. This is the Windows app version. https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/5023a6d6c92501bdfb0e00969703a767/as/Todoist_for_Windows.exe

Again, sorry for the wrong file. (it would show as OutlookTodoist in the Control Panel, the one I gave).

Thanks,
Brendon.

Apparently, I am not meant to have Todoist on my computer. Using the Todoist for Windows executable led to the very same error (403 Forbidden) as when I downloaded the file from the web site. Big sigh of resignation.

Hi Brendon!

A have the same situation. Using your link led to the 403 error again. Are there any other ways to solve the problem?

Hi,

To clarify, you have removed the previous version (Control Panel, Add/Remove) then cleared the cache for IE, and then installed the linked version?

Unfortunately as mentioned above this is one of the major issues we are having and why we have started a rewrite of it. We hope we can have this completed soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Brendon.

Yes. The only difference - I cleared the cache for Firefox.

Hope the new version will be done soon! I'm going to try premium status and use all the advantages of Todoist.

Hello

I am experiencing the same problem as above. The newer link did not fix my problem. I still have the 403 error.

Hi,

You "Run As Admin" on the installer file, you are installing it on XP? What other differences are there between your XP & 7 machine, any security differences, network, apps?

Regards,
Brendon.
