Outlook integration with iPad, iPhone; v. using Web app
I'm not clear on how to use this - too many choices? As a new user with Outlook (Exchange Server) and Microsoft CRM, I like the idea of entering tasks in one place oor the other and having it sync with the other platforms I am using.
Given the problems that Tyler is having with Outlook, should I just stick to the Web app? If so, does it integrate with IOS and therefor sync to my calendar?
Can I still send an e-mail as a task and have it go to Todoist?
What about contacts? can they be emailed as a task to Todoist (for a follow up call, for example?) and give me access to the contact information.
Sorry for all these questions...there are more (as I just downloaded the iPad app today), but I want to understand just how to use it most effectively and avoid your bugs.
To clarify - we always do our best to make sure our app has no bugs at all, the only issues we're experiencing are primarily with our Outlook plugin which, along with our Windows app, we're going to update as we're completely rewriting both right now. That said, you're welcome to use Todoist on all other platforms and won't encounter any bugs.
As for how to use it - please watch this short video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4mpv8tlhAU for a quick overview of how you can use the web-app.
To manage your emails with Todoist you can use two options, both described in detail in this post on our blog: https://todoist.com/blog/2013/01/zero-inbox-policy-with-todoist/ - the second one does indeed allow you to send emails to Todoist which will convert them to tasks, it's a Premium-only feature, though.
With Todoist Premium you will have access to your unique iCal feed which you can add to any calendar software you're using to see your Todoist tasks there.
As for contacts, with Premium you can add notes to tasks and if you include a phone number in these notes, it will become clickable in our mobile apps and will dial the number right away.
All that syncs seamlessly across 12 platforms :)
