Asking to change time zone every time opened
Todoist is asking me to change my time zone to GMT every time I open it. I tried changing it to GMT. Then it asked to change it to GMT - 6, my correct time zone.
How can I make it stop asking me to change time zones? I tried clicking all options in the pop-up box (no thanks, view settings, change).
Please agree to the change when it asks you and it should no longer ask you again. You must always agree to this to ensure that all due dates and times of your tasks are correct.
I did agree to change it to GMT (the wrong time zone).
The next time it asks me AGAIN to change it to GMT-6. I agreed.
The next time it asks me AGAIN to change it to GMT.
So essentially it is an endless cycle between GMT and GMT-6
Todoist tries to locate your zone based on your system settings as well as your location (based on the IP).
Are there any inconsistencies between these two? Do you have a different (GMT) zone set up on your computer or are you using a VPN with a server that's in the GMT time zone?
Ah! I just figured it out.
The Chrome button is thinking I am on GMT. So its asking me to switch.
Then when I open the full app it thinks I am GMT-6 so it asks me to change it.
So I guess the button is to blame?
No, my IP should match my computer time zone.
Not using a VPN.
I will add, this is a recent issue.
I have used the button/app in the past without the issue.
Please try to go to Chrome's Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data, delete todoist.com from this list, reload the browser and then log into Todoist through the web and after that - thought the Chrome extension and see if the issue persists.

I'm having the same issue, though following these steps doesn't solve the problem. I first encountered the issue when I recently updated to Windows 8.1 and thanks to this annoyance I updated all my time settings, but the problem persists.
Specifically, in the chrome web extension, it asks me to change my time zone to GMT - 8 and stays happy if I do so and continue using the extension by itself. But when I log onto the website version, it asks me to change my time zone to GMT -7, which is the correct one for my location. Changing it on the website makes the extension ask for GMT - 8 again, and the cycle continues.
Any tips on how to resolve the website and extension not time-syncing correctly?
Please confirm - going to Chrome's Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Content Settings -> All cookies and site data and deleting the all todoist.com related offline data and reloading the browser did not help? After you've done that, did you access the web version, confirmed the time zone change, then logged out, accessed the extension and it asked you again?
Also, are you referring to the same Chrome browser on the same computer?
I followed the directions and had the same problem, but I guess I neglected to log out of everything. Which included my phone. After logging out of all accounts and then signing back in on my computer (extension and website), the problem fixed itself. However, now I am unable to log in on my phone. This could just be a server or connectivity issue, so I'll report again if I still have problems.
I am having the same issue and it is driving me crazy. I tried the suggested fix:

but the problem persists....
To confirm, you have signed out of all devices, and then followed those instructions, and confirmed the timezone is correct, and still having issues?
I think I have but I switch devices a lot across multiple locations so it can be really hard to be sure.
