German ä/ö/ü disappear

Todoist seems to have problems with ä ö ü, although I have indicated German as my language in the setups.

These characters are not shown correctly. See the following example:

Ausbildung ber Anwendung

Do you know why this is happeing or is this a bug in the System?

Thank you for your earliest reply.

Hello Barbara,

We're aware of an issue that causes these Umlauts to disappear completely, but only in the Windows app. We're working on a rewrite of the app and it will address this issue.

If you're not using the Windows app, please clarify on what platform, browser, app are you experiencing this issue and how exactly does it occur? That is - do you type in "über" and as soon as you save the task, the ü gets replaced or later after refresh or sync?

Best regards,

Hi David

I have exactly the same problem but only (as described by you) with the Windows app. Do you have any estimations when the rewrite of the app will be available?

General question: the number of possible clients (windows app, directly with the browser, as browser extension) is a little bit confusing.
Which is the preferred way to use todoist on Windows?

Many thanks,

Unfortunately, the rewrite takes a bit longer than we've anticipated, but it shouldn't take too long at this point. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As for the preferred way to use Todoist - it depends, all have pretty much the same functionality, the Windows app has global shortcuts allowing you to quickly add a task from anywhere, but if you're using your browser very often or work with it all the time, you can as well use one of our browser plugins which will even give you the option to add websites or emails as tasks.

Best regards,
