Projects/sub projects and charts

I was wondering, if I create a sub project and complete tasks do these show up on the pie chart for the main project as well as the sub project?

For example, if I have a project/category called Business and a sub project called Accounts, if I completed an action in Accounts would it also be tracked under Business in the analysis graphs/charts or does the chart track these separately?

Hello Anjum,

Each task will show count only towards the project it's in so, based on your example, it will only increase the "Accounts" project's size on the chart.

If you would prefer to see a grouped chart, we recommend to use the same or similar colors for sub-projects.

Thanks, I really need the sub-projects to contribute to the statistical charts for the parent-project to get an overview of where I spend my time, but grouping by colors is a workable solution.

I think that by default sub-projects should 'inherit' the main projects color.

If you want to override it, you can assign another color to the sub-project.

Of course, this starts to get tricky(implementation-wise) when you move sub-project around out of our main project and into another.

Hello James,

By default, they do inherit the parent's color if you right-click on an existing project and choose "Add project below". However, this will indeed not happen if you drag & drop projects.

Best regards,
