How do I sync with gmail tasks already had listed prior to starting with todoist?

I'm trying out your product using my company gmail account and android phone and I like the initial extra functionality I see but I need to either extract the existing tasks on my gmail account into todoist as a one off transition or have an ongoing sync between these.

With my current setup I'm using gmail tasks on my PC and GTasks on my Galaxy note Android phone which sync fine to each other but don't have the same functionality your showing.

Many thanks

Just read some of the other posts and clearly this isn't possible yet.

As someone also said this is a deal breaker - shame looked promising.

We're sorry to hear that. We're planning to implement a way to import tasks from Google into Todoist (other than through the current "Import/Export Template" option), but a permanent sync between Todoist and Google Tasks will be extremely difficult to implement due to huge differences in features of both apps which would basically require creating a separate "app" in the background that would "translate" tasks with a lot priorities from Todoist to much more basic versions for Google Task, but it's still unclear how they would keep their properties once edited in Google Tasks.

Best regards,

Yeah it sucks that Google Task API is obviously not good for most iOS developers, even on Android there are only a few good ones that can sync seamlessly with it.

It's a shame that Google doesn't focus more on things like their "tasks" functions seeing as how we all use everything else Google related and it's conveniently there when we have quick task ideas but Todoist has pretty much every base covered as far as browser plugins, standalone desktop apps, mobile, and so on that I just said bye bye to Google Tasks.

Sucks because their no-frills approach can be inviting, just like their new "Google Keep" project...but I can already bet that it will wither away neglected like all million other side projects G has going on.

Wow! Syncing with gtask is a big deal for me to use the program. I hope you find a solution and soon.

going to be a deal breaker for me too unfortunately.... need sync with google..... don't understand why other apps (e.g. Tasks) sync with Google tasks but Todoist can't ....
