I have disabled notifications in my settings but I am still receiving Reminders via email. How can I get this to stop?
Please clarify - are you referring to notifications such as newsletters or actual task reminders?
If you have tasks on your list that have reminders assigned to them, then unfortunately you'll need to remove each reminder from each task (by right-clicking on it, going to the "Reminders" menu and deleting the reminder from there).
The default settings for reminders apply to all new tasks that are added which have a due time, but don't switch off already existing reminders.
