I want to periodically clean up my labels. I think I have about 50 labels that have 0 usage. Is there a way I can purge these without having to go through them one at a time?
Unfortunately, it's not possible to delete multiple labels at once. We will consider adding such option in the future, but for now, the quickest way to delete them one-by one is by using the right-click menu and Enter.
Go to the full label list using the @ link, then right-click on a label, pick "Delete label" and confirm with Enter.
Right-clicking there doesn't work on a Mac, at least this Mac. I see the full list, but can't do anything with them.
Anything I'm missing?
I just tested it and it should work. Which version of the Mac app are you using? When you hover on a label and click the "..." icon, does it give you the "delete label" option?
I'm just using the web, not an app. I don't get any "..." when hovering over the list of labels or any individual label.
It should still work with in the web. Which browser are you using? Try clearing the cache and see if that helps.
Oh I see now. It's on the left-hand side: Projects Labels Filters
I click on the Labels link and can Delete (and Edit) them from there.
First time using Labels - got it now. Thanks!
Hi all, for anyone else stumbling upon this I have posted a Python-based solution that works with the Todoist API here:
The code is by no means perfect (I plan to improve it) but it seems to do the job for me. I'm sure a real developer could turn it into a few lines at most :-)
