Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, there is no way to convert a task into a Project. You can multi select tasks (Ctrl+RightClick) to select tasks, and you can choose "Move to Project" at the top to move them to a new project.

That is assuming you wanted to create a new project with tasks from a bunch of tasks you already had within the Inbox. But, task directly turned into a project, this is not possible.

Feel free to add this to our votebox :) http://todoist.com/Vote/

Wow. Thanks for the lightening fast response.

I will look at throwing it in the votebox!

It is great idea. It's a great idea. It would be even better if it combine with the option to move the task / project to another project.

The link to the vote page does not work! I would vote for this feature as well - urgently.

It would be great to be able to convert a task to a project while processing the inbox :)

I also would love this feature. I just discovered Todoist and think it is quite an App. I think this feature would increase its usefulness tremendously.

I am switching to a different task manager app for this reason. todoist is missing several necessary functions, but the inability to use the inbox as an inbox and then sort the tasks into different projects as well as the inability to add subtasks EASILY is enough to make me give up on todoist.

+1. Looks like I will be going back to Omnifocus...

+1, for all the same reasons. This is a feature available in most other management apps I've tried.

+1 this one should be top priority as inbox should be for anything new that's not sorted, including projects

:'-( I just tried to convert four tasks from my Inbox to a Project. I can't believe this isn't as easy as dragging them over to the left column under Projects.
