How do I save a filter?

On Android I see the Manage Filters functionality and it works very well. How do I see these filters on the web, or create new ones?

Hello Jim,

Unfortunately, filters are currently not available on the web-version, but we're working on this right now and such feature will be implemented into the web-app soon.

Best regards,

There is a work-around. Create the filter and just bookmark the page. This works because the search criteria are embedded into the URL to work.

Hello Gareth,

Thank you for your feedback. This will indeed work, but it will include the version number within the URL and therefore we can't guarantee stability of our app as once a new version comes out, your browser will read the old one which may contain or lead to bugs or unexpected behavior so we strongly recommend to never bookmark any other URL that https://todoist.com which will always check for the last version and forward you to it.

We're already working on saved filters so it will be easy to use them on the web, just as on mobile :)

One temporary workaround would be do use some text expander or automator tool like textexpander, Keyboard Maestro etc. You could save keyboard shortcut or some short keyword that will execute the search/filter function.

Hi guys,

if I may, I'd like to add myself on the 'waiting list'. This would be quite useful tool if you need to switch quickly between projects and filters. One temporary work-around I would suggest is to remove the version from the link in bookmark, as the app seems to check automatically what's the latest version and returns the updated link:

So if I try to load this: https://todoist.com/app?lang=en&#agenda%2Foverdue%2C__7__days

it will automatically load this (notice the difference in "v=315"):

Hope this helps :)

It's been a year since the last update (no pressure ;) ), any news? (love)

Hi Jakob,

Have you tried using custom filters for this? :-)

AH, wait a second. I misread the original question. I thought this was a feature request for actually saving filters in the web version, storing them permanently for easy access (which would be awesome)

Hi Jakob,

Does that mean that the custom filter in the web doesn't work for you? If it doesn't, can you please let us know your suggestions on how we can improve it? :-)
