"Error Encountered Project Not Found"

When I launch Todoist from my task-bar the following message pops up " Error Encountered Project Not Found".

I am running Windows 8.0 32 bit. Todoist for outlook is installed.

I uninstalled Todoist, restarted, and ran a version of todoist for windows you sent to me in this forum. It worked fine until a windows update executed this morning.

Any help is appreciated!

Please clarify - does this happen in Outlook, in the Windows app or also on the web-version at todoist.com ?

Also - what is your default start page? Did you set a certain project that might have been deleted as your start page?

If you're referring to the Windows desktop app, please right-click on the TD icon in the notifications area (system tray) and choose "Home".

Hi David,
Thank you for your reply. Hopefully I can clarify. This happens when in windows (classic view). As you know windows 8 gives you the choice. I pinned TD to the task bar. It worked fine before the last windows update.

I feel dumb...I wasn't aware that there is a default start page. If there is I did not intentionally set one. When I launch TD from IE or Chrome it looks like the home page with my projects on the left, even though I am not logged in.

When I right click on the TD icon in the system tray there is no option to choose "Home". Only options are TD, unpin, close.

Thank you for your help

If you head to Todoist.com, if you are logged in there should be a "gear" icon in the top right corner. Hit this and go to Settings, on that page under Start Page, let us know what is selected. If it is a project then that would be causing the issue, and changing this to something else will fix it.

If you aren't signed in when you go to Todoist.com, please do so and follow the above :)

If you are referring to Outlook, that would be why there is no Home option, as this plugin does not have that. Please try uninstalling the current plugin for Outlook, clear the cache for IE and install this version. https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/02cd062715e057dfa9ee118565c79108/as/OutlookTodoist.Adx.exe.

If you are referring to the Windows App, please click on the small arrow beside the clock on your windows task bar, to open up a small menu called the System Tray, which should have a TD icon, right clicking on this will give you the options David was referring too.

Let me know if you still have issues after all that :)
