what will the future of Todoist be?

Hello Todoist team,

looking at the votebox you can find a number of suggestions (task dependencies, progress bar for tasks, Gantt charts) that would convert Todoist from a relatively simple task management (which I do not mean offensive in any way) into a full blown project management system.
Is your plan to actually take that big step towards project management or will Todoist stay a task management system for the forseeable future?

Thanks and regards,

Hello Andy,

There is no clear answer to this question. On one hand, we will of course add more features to Todoist (there will be a big change even this year), but at the same time we want to keep it as a simple app that should help everyone manage their tasks without having many advanced features stand in the way. We believe that completing tasks should be the focus, not using an app for a long time just to set it up and input a lot of data into it and waste time on this.

For project management, we already offer another app - https://wedoist.com and we plan to make both Todoist and Wedoist work together so that you could use Todoist for your personal tasks, but see tasks assigned to you by your team through Wedoist.

That said, we have big plans for both our apps and we'll continue to add features to both of them, but never make them stand in the way of the main goal - the increase of your productivity :)

Best regards,

Hi David,

thanks for the extensive feedback. Looking forward to the new features and at the same time hope that Todoist stays as easy to use as it is right now.
