Windows app doesn't work after update

HW

I installed an update to todoist yesterday, since then the app won't open. Have tried restarting and reinstalling it and can't get it to work.

Hello Hannah,

Please clarify - the app itself will not open as in, it won't launch at all or will it launch, but Todoist itself will not open within the app's window.

Please make sure that you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 installed on your computer and that the app isn't already running in the background (if it does, you'll see the TD icon in the notifications area (system tray)).

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

It won't launch at all. I'm running windows 8 and have the icon in the system tray anyway. When I click on either that or the desktop icon nothing loads.

Thanks.

Hi Hannah,

To clarify, when you click on the TD icon in the system tray (which means Todoist is running) nothing happens?

Please try to clear the cache for Internet Explorer.

If you go into the Control Panel, and head to Firewall, please make sure that Todoist is on the accepted list. Also, are you behind any proxies or extra security?

Thanks,
Brendon.

Hi Brendon,

When I click on it, the icon highlights, like it's going to start running. Then it just stops. No screen appearing or anything, it doesn't seem to be opening it at all.

It's on my allowed list for the firewall.

It was working absolutely fine until it prompted me to update yesterday, I don't know why it's suddenly stopped.

Thanks,

Hannah

Hannah,

Please uninstall the app completely and then re-download and reinstall it from https://todoist.com/windows

Hi David,

Have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling - it opens a screen with the heading 403 Forbidden and text Forbidden Only POST allowed

Hello Hannah,

Please right-click on the TD icon in the notifications area (system tray) and log out through there. If this won't help, use the "Home" option.

Best regards,
David
