Cannot Postpone recurring task one day at a time, must be to next occurrence.

I know this has been discussed, but I wanted to see if maybe I was missing something. Whether or not I use "every" or "after" for a recurring task, I can only choose to "do it today" (once it is overdue) or "postpone" to next scheduled occurrence, as if it had been done today.

Problem is, I like to clear my list for today before bed at night. Even if clearing only means pushing the things I'm not getting done to tomorrow. I can't clear out the things I haven't done because it won't let me. I don't want to wait until the next occurrence, it still needs to be done, but I just didn't have the time today.

Is there any way to make the postponing more flexible in this way?

Hi Laura,

You are correct, at the moment there is no "Do It Tomorrow" type of option.

You could change the date of the task to the next day, but I do understand this is not ideal for someone to do all the time.

You can also just leave them as is, which will make them overdue. They will show up on your Today view as overdue, and you can check them off when completed.

A feature like this does seem to be wanted quite a bit, and we hopefully will implement it eventually. You can vote on it in our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/showProposal/826/
