Any progress with this? Really would make Todoist perfect.

Hi Dean,

Thank you for the interest. As stated in this votebox.

We will certainly add the "Add email as task" feature to the final version of our plugin as it's a key feature for our email client plugins.

We can't provide you with an exact time frame right now, but it should be fairly soon. We will update when it's time :)

I just stumbled across this today and tested it. Pretty cool. Looks like it got the <date ***> as well as the @label (but it did not pull the label out of the note, that looks like a small oversite). Would also be nice if it did a little more whitespace tweaking for the note.

Whoops. Looks like I should have put the label in the subject, then the note would have worked properly. :-)

However I did notice that my "signature" came through in the note. I don't think this is generally what I would want (and usually e-mailers designate a signature as coming after two or more hyphens ("--").

I don't know if I would suggest fixing this as sometimes I would want a task to include the forwarded parts of a message (i.e. if I'm making a task that is to dig into and respond to a particular e-mail).

All in all, I still believe this feature will be something I will use regularly.

Hello John,

If you're trying to email tasks directly to Todoist - it will indeed not see where your signature is. There are too many different signature formats people use, some in plaintext, some in HTML, some with some without any specific separator, therefore we're letting the signature be part of the task note.

Furthermore, as you've noticed, sometimes it may be desired to have the signature included, if someone asks you to contact them and has the contact details in the signature, you'll see them in the task note.

Best regards,
