Can tasks be listed without first assigning a project?

I seem to only be able to list a task once I've created a new project. Some random tasks are just that and aren't part of a larger project. Is there a way to list tasks without first creating a project to list them under?

Thanks in advance,

Hello Greg,

It's not possible to add a task that will not be part of any project. If you have tasks that aren't related to any particular project, please create a project called "Inbox" and you can add all unrelated tasks there and then later redistribute them among other projects or keep them in the Inbox, as you prefer.

how do you assign a task to a project when it was originally created in the inbox?

Hm, it appears you can't move tasks created in the (newish) system "inbox". Might have to create a project of your own as a placeholder for "tasks without projects", from there they can be moved to other projects as and when.

(Just re-read David's response on Apr 15, I'm sure this is what he meant as well, as the system "inbox" didn't exist then?)

You should be able to right click on any task within the Inbox, just as any other project, and choose "Move to another project". Let me know if you are unable to do so.

Thanks Brendon. Just tried on another PC with the same setup (Chrome on Windows 7) and it works fine - ditto iPhone app - so must have been a glitch on my work PC. Not back at work for three days now so testing there will just have to wait! ;-)
