change language

I used to have todoist in english and it worked well withe the dates/time.
I don't know since when, but it automatically switched to french. I noticed some mistakes.
I'd like to put it back to english but i don't know how to set this up?
Please let me know

At the bottom right side of the 'Today' or '7 day' Todoist screen you should see five links: [doist.io]; [current language]; [Privacy Policy]; [About us]; [Support] (from left to right)

Click the [current language] link and re-select English.

Thank you but this doesn't change the language in the imac app and neither in the iphone app

Sorry about that! I should have qualified that the information given was applicable to the web version.

Sorry, but I can't speak to either the imac or the iphone app ...

Hello Cyril,

The iPhone app uses your phone's language settings. Please let us know if your phone is set to English and you still see our app in French.

As for the Mac app, please try to click on the docked TD icon, choose Logout and when you're on the login page, you'll see the "Francais" link at the bottom where you can set the language for this app.

Thank you for your answer.
My iPhone is set to French but I'd like the app in English. I noticed many problems for dates/time, so I'd rather have it in English.

Unfortunately, that's not possible right now, but we will consider adding such option in the next revision of our app.

Furthermore, we would greatly appreciate if you could post some examples of what date or time issues you've experienced so we can fix them.

Language option before login in does not seem to work today. I live in Spain and the only option is Spanish. I tried the usual link for languages but it does not work.

Please could you check this.

Hi Jennie,

Are you trying to change it in the web or any of our add-in/extension? In the web, you can just go to TODOIST SETTING → GENERAL and then change the language from there.

Hi, when i downloaded the ToDoist app on my iphone and signed in via my gmail, all the text was islamic or arabic, i couldnt tell which button i should press so i had to guess, finally got through and then everything was back to english...seems okay now, but thought i'd let you know as this seemed a bit strange. I'm in australia. english is the language on my iphone and on my todoist app on gmail account. cheers michelle

Hi,

Today the language on my app change (cfr screenshot).
I can't understand this language therefor it's difficult to know how to change it in the settings.
My iPhone is set to french ans i'd like it'll be the same for Todoist.
Could you give me any clue please ?

Hi,

Sale issue for me. The new langage looks scandinavian -maybe Finn ?
My iPhone is set up on french and the change did ont occur on the PC app.

Same issue for me this morning on my Iphone. Still Ok on Internet & Ipad.

Few days before buying the Premium license. It will be a test to measure capability to sustain the application.

Hello,

The French on the Iphone is not working based on the default language of the phone. I changed it in my settings to English (which works) and try selecting French again, and it's a foreign language. Can you please look into this?

Hello,

I dit following tests (final résult : FAIL)
- close all apps
- change french to english
- all menus/items are fine in todoist.
- close all
- change english to french
- all menus/items are in bad language (netherlands ?)

I tried the same opération (french to canadian french) : FAILED
French canadian to German : all items/menus are in German

German to french : FAILED

Shutdown my mobile and ré open todoist (always french for iPhone) : stil FAILED

Sounds that french messages are gone ;(

Feel free to revert to me for Any further tests.

Thank you David, I would appreciate if you address the issue, because Todoist has become a "life saver" in the lats few months, and I keep on converting others to it! For my part: totally addicted.

By the way, I noticed that once you deleted a to-do on your Iphone, you can't retrieve it; is that possible? I don't think I have the same issue on the desktop app.

Other question, is my Todoist data saved if I my Time Machine is doing the backup of my computer?

Dominique,

If you don't use the undo option from the notification at the bottom right after deleting the task, then indeed you won't be able to retrieve it later, unless it's been backed up already in which case you can recover it through Settings -> Backups using our web-app.

Technically, any ways of backing up the local data on your PC will also back up the local storage of our app, however, if new changes have been made on your Todoist account, then they will sync to the Windows app so the data is up-to date.

The same thing happened today with my iPhone application. Todoist displayed the information in Finnish. I have French as a default language. To solve the problem temporarily, I switched to English in the iPhone settings (that is, general > language and region > iPhone language > English). Todoist displayed the information in English. I works also with Dutch and German, for example. If I select the default language back to French, Todoist still display the information in Finnish. The same is valid for French (Canada). Note that my Todoist desktop still display the information in French.

Big mistake : I did the upgrade on iPad, so this app is now "finn-ished" as well.

Same for me ... According to apps review in French App Store . More and more people are facing this issue . (Apps rate is falling dramatically)

Nearly a week since the problem has been pointed out, and still no correction. And no message from the support either. Very poor customer service here, I'm disapointed :/

We're very sorry for the inconvenience. As we've said in all related threads, this issue has been addressed last week in a new version of our iOS app, right now we can only wait for Apple to finally finish reviewing it and publish it on their store :-(
