Is it possible to attach a file to a task within the Windows app?

I have tried to attach a file (XLSX) to a task in the Todoist app for Windows. When I click on the drive icon to upload a file, I get a blank window. However, when I try the same thing in the web app, I get the dotted box where I can successfully attach a file.

Hello Andrew,

We can't reproduce this issue. When I clicked on the "Attach files..." icon in the task notes section when using the Windows app, the same popup appeared with the area to drag & drop files. After the upload, the file was successfully attached.

Please tell me:
- What version of Windows are you using?
- Does the issue persist after logging out and back in through the Windows app (this can be done by clicking on the TD icon in the notification area (system tray)?

Best regards,

Logging out and back in again seems to have resolved the issue. I apologize for the inconvenience. I didn't realize that there was a logout option through the system tray icon. Thank you for your help.

I am having a similar problem -- using the Windows app (Todoist for Windows -- premium account). I am using Windows 7x64.

When I try to attach a file by pressing the note button, nothing happens.

Hi Tyler,

Have you tried logging out as described above? Does it still occur?

Hi Brendon,

Thanks for your quick response.

I have tried logging out and signing back in, and it is still the same: when I click the "file" icon, nothing happens.

Some more info -- I originally downloaded the program as a free user, but then signed up for Premium. So far as I can tell, the other premium functions work, but I've just started to try it out.

Do you have any more suggestions?

PS Oh, by the way, I also had trouble logging out by clicking the taskbar icon (which has a logout option on the menu). That didn't work. I had to go into the actual app to logout and log back in.

Not sure if your version has been updated, but try installing this version, https://d2dq6e731uoz0t.cloudfront.net/afa6bb84ab1d6149f44affa08a8f792a/as/Todoist_for_Windows.exe

I would then suggest logging out, clearing the cache for IE and logging back in.

Hi Brendon,

I installed the version of Todoist you linked to, and made sure to log out once it was installed.

I also upgraded my IE from 10.x to 11. I cleared out all data from IE.

I logged into Todoist and... same thing. If I click the icon nothing happens.

(BTW, don't know if this matters, but my default browser is Firefox, not IE. But I'm assuming the Windows app automatically launches in IE.)

Is there any other info I can give you or anything else I can try?

By the way, the function DOES work when I use the app within my browser (firefox).

Hello Tyler,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, this is indeed an issue with our Windows app, we're working on a rewrite already and it should address this issue.

Best regards,

Thanks for letting me know, David.

I'll work with the web version in Firefox instead, since it takes attachments.
