Unable to import URL into google calendar

When I put the URL form Todoist into my Google (apps) calendar, it hangs with "Importing calendar from url..." and never loads the calendar.

When I try this with iCal, it works fine.

Any thoughts?

Hello Sam,

We're sorry for the inconvenience, we're looking into this issue right now. You could try to sync it with Google later it may be partially caused by an overload of the server.

I have this same problem. I tried importing 3 nights in a row. Surely there must be another reason for this beyond server overload?

Hello Jongwook,

We're looking into this issue. For now, please try to add the iCal feed to Google Calendar and you will most likely see a yellow "Importing calendar..." message which, after a while may fail. Don't wait for it too long, but instead - just add the feed and once you see "Importing calendar...", close the Google calendar. Google should then automatically reattempt to synchronize the feed multiple times a day and usually within 24 hours you should see the calendar correctly imported without having to retry adding it manually.

Achieving real-time calendar integration with Google Calendar should be of the utmost priority. I keep coming back to try Todoist (having purchased a premium subscription some months ago) and each and every time I return, there is some drastic shortcoming that makes me unable to adopt it as my full-service to-do service.

I too have the same problem with Google Calebdar, there is a delay not acceptable.
in the Todoist advertizing does not specify the update time. Why?

Hello Adriano,

The iCal feed which we offer to sync your tasks through the calendar is updated immediately in real-time and you can see all changes in every calendar software that supports it... except Google Calendar. Unfortunately, we have no influence in the choice Google made to sync the iCal feeds in their software only once a day. We hope they will change this in the future.

Best regards,
