How can I change the timezone of the iCal

When I use the iCalendar feed URL to import my tasks to my Google Apps calendar, it's set to "(GMT+00:00) GMT (no daylight saving)". Can this be changed? My calendar reminders using the calendar are thus off by 6 hours and confusing.

Hello Lundie,

The time zone is set accordingly to the one you're using in Todoist (in Settings -> General) and in your calendar. Please make sure that both are the same.

My timezone in ToDoIst is "(GMT-0600) America/Chicago", when I open the settings of the calendar in Google Apps, it says "Calendar Time Zone: (GMT+00:00) GMT (no daylight saving)". I cannot edit the one in Google Apps, it just is imported that way.

Hello Lundie,

The time zone of the Google Calendar can be changed. Please click on the gear icon on the right side in Google Calendar and choose "Settings". You will have an option to select a timezone on the "General" tab.

Unfortunately, it cannot. My personal Google calendar is set to (GMT-06:00) Central Time. It's the imported/viewed ToDoIst calendar within Google Apps that cannot be modified and that currently says (GMT+00:00) GMT (no daylight saving).

I would be happy to send you screen caps of the different views to illustrate.

You can send a screenshot to david@doist.io

Basically, this setting shouldn't affect the tasks. If you have any other calendar software in which you could test if the issue persists, we would appreciate if you could try to do that. The iCal feed is compatible with most popular calendars - Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCalendar etc.

I am having the same issue as Lundie. I have set my Todoist Time Zone to GMT -0800 US/Pacific my Google Apps Calendar settings are set the same. When the iCalander feed for my Todoist tasks shows up in my Google calendar it shows one day later than the due date was set (i.e. set for Thursday Jan 10th but shows up in Google Calendar due on Friday Jan 11th.)

Reviewing the Calendar time zone settings for the iCalendar feed for Todoist indicates the time zone is GMT+00:00 (no daylight saving) which is different than both my Google Calendar settings and my Todoist settings.

I am also having this same issue - my todoist calendar is set for GMT-5, my Google calendar also set for GMT-5, but the iCal is set for GMT.

To clarify, I am not importing the iCal into MY personal calendar, I am adding it to Google Calendar as its own standalone calendar. Do you need the screen shots? Or do you know enough details to understand the situation?

This issue should now be fixed, we've adjusted timezone handling in our iCal feed. You may still see GMT as the timezone of the feed itself, but the times of the tasks are now correct.

Two years later, and I'm having this issue as well. What is the resolution please?
Screenshots attached showing problem. GMT+2 setup in ToDoist settings, but iCal shows GMT+0?

Hi Ian,

Sorry to hear about that! Besides the GMT+00:00 showing up, are your Todoist tasks shown with the wrong time in your Google Calendar? Are they all shifted to 2 hours?

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi there.

Ah, you are absolutely correct. They are appearing at the correct time in
my calendar despite it being reflected as GMT+0.
It does take an awfully long time for the tasks to appear in the calendar
but I see I from the forums I am not the only one with this issue.
Would be great if you guys had any alternatives to the once-a-day iCal
updates by Google?

Thanks for your help

Hi Ian,

Just to clarify, the tasks should be reflect on the proper time now, correct? Regarding sync, we're actually looking into improving this so tasks are updated more frequently. Currently, Google just updates the feed once a day.

Thank you.

I'm having a similar problem... the interesting thing is, the tasks are off by different times by day. The further I go out, the more correct they are (for repeating tasks).

I'll attach a screen shot. I have 3 tasks that recur daily:
-Prayer and Bible (6:30 am)
-Daily Review (7:30 am)
-Memorize 1 john 5 (8:10 am)

today, those are delayed by 4 hours.
Tomorrow, the 3rd one is correct (not yet completed today) while the other 2 are delayed by 4 hours. My takeaway here is that the first instance is off by 4 hours (for tasks I already completed today, that's tomorrow; for tasks not yet completed today, it shows today.)

(Idea - is there a problem with todoist showing tasks with a due time that is in the PAST? As in earlier today (it's about 11 am when I take this screenshot).

Then, there are other one-time tasks that are each off by 4 hours per the hypothesis above (run stairs should be today at 1; play basketball should be friday at 6am).

This is in Outlook 2013. I have my time setting correctly as EST in Todoist. I get a lot of Send and Receive errors in outlook. (see screenshot)

When I go to todoist on web, I'm being prompted to verify my time zone.
