Hello Selvan,

All tasks on this list are sorted by priority - within each day, every main task is sorted by priority from 1 to 4 and each sub-tasks are sorted independently by their priorities within their parent task.

Alternatively, you could set a custom query: "p1, p2, p3" or add these to your current query for the start page which will add all tasks (for all dates) with the appropriate priority after the overdue, today and tomorrow tasks.

Best regards,
David

If tasks are sorted by priority by default in the start page i should be getting it in P1, P2, P3, P4 order under od, tod, tom i have chosen "od, tod, tom" for start page from settings menu). but my tasks are jumbled, its not displaying in order based on priority(. Secondly what would be syntax of the custom query if i have to added one to get the tasks displayed/sorted for overdue, today and tomorrow in P1, P2, P3, P4 priority ?

Selvan,

If you've chosen "od, tod, tom" then the results should be as follows:

* 5 days ago
- p1 tasks
- p2 tasks
- p3 tasks
- p4 tasks

* 4 days ago
- p1 tasks
etc.

...and so on until today, then tomorrow and then tasks that are longer overdue than 5 days. Each day has tasks sorted by priority and this is the only syntax that allows you to see tasks grouped by day and sorted by priority. The syntax "p1, p2, p3" would show you all tasks grouped by priority and sorted by days.

Please note that I'm referring to tasks that do not have specific due times. If your tasks include a time, for example "tomorrow at 12:00" their time will be the primary factor for sorting.

If you don't have tasks with due times, please send a screenshot to david@todoist.com showing this issue as I can't reproduce it so far.

Best regards,
David

It does not work in my account too. The tasks are not sorted by priority.

Hello Dmitry,

Please tell me - do your tasks have due times such as "today at 13:25"? If so - they will primarily be sorted by due time. Also, please note that if you reorder a prioritized task, other tasks with the same priority will then be added to the place where you've moved the task before.

Please try to log out, clear your browser's cache and offline storage and if this won't help, please tell me:
- Which browser are you using?
- Can you reproduce this issue in at least one different browser (if so - which one)?
- Could you send me a screenshot of this issue to david@todoist.com ? You could hide the task names, just to see the colored check-boxes would be helpful.

Best regards,
David

David, thanks for your answer.

I don't have due times for my tasks, only dates.
I have this issue in fresh firefox and google chrome. Logging out and clearing cache did not work in both.

I am sending you screenshots from today view and project view.

Thanks!

Dmitry,

Thank you for the screenshots. I'm not sure why this is happening. Please try to reorder your tasks by priority and let me know if they will maintain their order afterwards and if new tasks with different priorities will be shown in the correct position. Sorry for the inconvenience.

David

David, I looked into dev tools in my browser and see some errors. I think the problem is in my corporate proxy which blocks calls to https://todoist.com/TodoistSync/v2/syncAndGetUpdatedFast. There is also a JS error in console when I press 's' or 'p':
TypeError: c.current_list is undefined

And the sort does not happen.

Dmitry,

We're sorry to hear that. In that case, there's unfortunately nothing we can do about this issue.

Also, I can't reproduce the JS error you're referring to. Please tell me - what browser sis you use to access the console?

David

Hello René,

Please try to clear your browser's cache and if the issue persists, please tell me:
- Can you reproduce it in a different browser (if so - which one)?
- Did you manually reorder any tasks on the "today" view?

Hi David,

"Please try to clear your browser's cache and if the issue persists, please tell me: "
I have done it. But the problem is still there (on my air book, my iMac and my iPhone.

"- Can you reproduce it in a different browser (if so - which one)?"
Yes, on firefox it is still the same.

"- Did you manually reorder any tasks on the "today" view?"
Yes I did. But I do not remember if it starts then.

Best regards,
René

Why is it not possible to select the order of tasks as on projects?

René,

It's not advised to change the order of tasks on the today view because it's basically a search result page which always tries to display the results according to the same formula, but we did make it possible to reorder certain groups. That said, if you've moved a task that has a certain priority to a lower or upper position, all tasks with the same priority will now be added in this new spot which may cause such inconsistencies, but the system will remember where you want your priority 1 tasks to be added.

Please try to resort the tasks on this view as you wish and the priorities should then follow this order for future tasks.

Best regards,
David
