Printing Completed Tasks

When I call up the completed tasks list and ask for notes to be shown, it doesn't want to print this list. How do I print a list of completed tasks (and notes)? Is it possible to print a single task along with its notes?

Hello Nathan,

Please clarify - are you referring to the "# Completed" history in the top-right corner or the "Get completed tasks" list at the bottom? Do you see a dialog box saying "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogues"? If you do, click "Cancel".

Also, can you reproduce this issue in different browsers?

David, your answer isn't helpful

Like Nathan, I need to print completed task from a list.

Could you help us?

Hello Knito,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to print the list of completed tasks below the list of active tasks within a project, but we will consider adding such option in future updates.

Was this option ever fixed?

Hello Matt,

The option to include completed tasks in a printout of a selected project has not been implemented yet.

The option to print all completed tasks is possible by going to Karma -> View All Completed and using Ctrl+P or the "Print current page" option.

Hi David, I appreciate the quick reply.

The problem with the Karma is that it is not allowing me to print the completed tasks for the people who are sharing the project with me. We as a group complete the tasks and I send the completed tasks out to our customers, it only shows me the others names that complete the tasks. I REALLY need a work around for this. Is there anything you can think of that would help me to get the total lists out? I am trying copy and pasting but it is not coming out very legible.

Thank you again

Thank you for clarifying.

I think in that case you could try to use sub-tasks. For example, you set one parent task for the customer and everything that has to be done for him is a sub-task below it.

The good thing about sub-tasks is that if you check them off, they stay on the list and don't move to the history right-away (unless you hold SHIFT when you check it off or check off the parent task). That said, if you use the print option on a list with completed sub-tasks, they will be printed... though they will be grayed out and crossed out, but still - readable.

David, That is exactly what I am doing. Thank you so much for the quick response. I have to go in and make everything a sub task now. Thank you. Please fix this soon! HAHA

Oh, just to clarify though, David. I love this program. I hope you guys continue making the project application more and more versatile but this is a great planning software,

David is this feature on your road-map to implement? Not having the ability to print the task you've completed would be very helpful and since it has been a year since this thread had been started I'm wondering if it's even a line item in your features to implement list.

Again avid fan and user of Todoist, and just wanting to help make improvements.

Hello Shaun,

Unfortunately, we're not working on this option right now and our roadmap is always set for the "next features" after adding previous ones so it's impossible to tell when this option will be added :-(

Now, just to clarify - that's reg. showing completed task when printing a project. Printing all completed tasks or completed tasks for a certain label or project is already possible if you go to Karma -> View All Completed and print this page.

This is so easy to implement. Your customers want it. We need it... badly... without all of the "well you can do this, and you can do that." PLEASE, adapt your roadmap to your customers' needs. You'll fail if you don't. PLEASE just implement the ability to print completed tasks when they are printed alone, printed with open tasks, all of them are printed, or a subset are printed.

This is such a fundamental reporting feature, it is absurd that we are still talking about it and todoist is doing nothing.

Just to join in that this is very important to me as well. It really is something that makes sense.

I would really love it if you moved on this request, too. It would really make sense to have this option.

A work-around that I've been using in Chrome browser on PC:

- Click "Show Completed Tasks" at the bottom (the little clock)
- Select all tasks with by dragging your cursor
- Click CTRL+P to print
- Select "more settings" and then "selection only"

Not ideal but it works for me!
