API: Remove a due date string?

Y

Hi,

Is it possible, via the update_item API, to remove a due date for an existing item?

Thanks,
Yaron

Hi Yaron

I think setting date_string to "" and due_date to "" should do the trick.
Please try it out and let us know if that works.

Amir

no longer works. "" gives "Invalid Date" - sometimes I'd like to remove the date instead of rescheduling it several times, especially if the parent or another component is already tracking the date...

ah... the Android version lets me remove it. But, not on Windows, Mac, or Outlook.

Stephen,

Please tell me - does setting the date to "no date" work?

Stephen,

So using "" doesn't work either? Also, just to clarify - we're talking about using the Todoist API with your own developed app, correct? Otherwise you can just remove the date by deleting it until there's nothing in the date box.

Best regards,
David

Hello Stephen,

Please confirm, are you setting date_string="" AND due_date="" within the same call?

Stephen,

In that case - I can't reproduce this. removing the due date and hitting enter to save the changes seems to correctly remove every due date I've tested. However, make sure there's really nothing in the date field, not even a space.

Best regards,
David
