Gmail app

JM

Does the gmail app synch with the todoist app on the iPad? If so how is this done as it doesn't seem to appear on my email?

Also, the app seems pretty weak as I don't seem to be able to add reminders etc. is this the case, and if so when will a useable app be released?

Many thanks

Hello Joseph,

Todoist doesn't offer a GMail app. Please clarify - are you referring to one of our browser plugins? Todoist for Chrome? Todoist for Firefox? Todoist Anywhere?

If so, please tell me - what exact action are you trying to take in Todoist and what what issue are you experiencing? Please note that it might be necessary to reload the page or resync the mobile site to see the newly added tasks in the browser plugin.

As for the mobile site itself, we are going to release a brand new Android and iOS app this month which will offer most of the features from the web-app. You can also try to access the web-app on your iPad. To do so, go to http://todoist.com/m then log out and you'll see a ling at the bottom of the login page allowing you to use the non-mobile version.

Best regards,
David

Hello David

When I'm in my gmail I'm trying to convert an email into a task, is this possible?

Joseph,

in the other thread you've said:

"I'm using gmail on my iPad normally through gmail app. What plugin do you recommend? I can use my gmail through chrome but it won't let me install the plug in through the iPad. Thanks"

To clarify - it's not possible to use a Todoist plugin an any iPad app (such as the GMail app). To do so, you need a full browser on your computer (such as Chrome, Firefox etc.) and you need to install our plugin into it and then you'll be able to add email from your GMail account as tasks. Once you do, you can access them from any other Todoist plugin or web-app etc.

To see how it works, please take a look at this video which explains the whole process in detail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSPa2ZHCs-Y

Also, on the IstProductivity channel on YouTube, you can find other videos showing how each single plugin works.

Best regards,
David

Hello David

When I try to add todoist plug in on chrome (on the iPad) it doesn't allow it.

The error message says 'Sorry, your operating system is not supported just yet. The Chrome Web Store is available on Windows, Mac and Linux. Why don't you send yourself a reminder to try it out later?'

Any ideas?

Joseph,

it's indeed possible that this plugin can't be installed on Chrome for Mac. Please check if you can use Todoist Anywhere instead: http://todoist.com/anywhere

It only requires to add a certain bookmark which will open Todoist in the bottom-right corner and should work with any browser.

Best regards,
David

David

It won't allow me to open the bookmark saying the uri scheme is not supported.

All I want to achieve is to turn emails into tasks from gmail in my iPad.

Is this actually possible, I.e. has anyone else managed to do this?

In case you were still wondering, I would strongly recommend forwarding the emails to your Project Email address.
