Postponing by one day a 3-day recurring task.

I have a reminder to check the salt in my water softener every three days. Some days it is not quite ready to filled so I want to postpone the reminder by just one day.

However, if I click 'postpone' on Monday it postpones to Thursday. Is there a simple way to put it back by one day, please, so it reminds again on on Tuesday, Friday, and so on?

Hello Phil,

unfortunately, that's not possible, but you could set the task to "after 3 days" instead of "every 3 days" with the difference that once you complete the task, it will be scheduled 3 days after the day you complete it and nor according to its original date.

For example, you set up a task due "after 3 days" today and check the salt, check off the task and it will be due Monday. Now, if it's not ready on Monday, don't check the task off and if you do so on Tuesday, the next occurrence will be set to Friday instead of Thursday.

In order to be reminded about this task, you'll need to use a relative reminder and therefore specify a time within the task such as "after 3 days at 10am". Unfortunately, this option will not send you another reminder if the task is overdue and unfortunately, postponing the reminder or the task just by 1 day is not possible.

We may introduce such option in the future, though. You're welcome to add a request to our Votebox: http://todoist.com/Vote/

Thanks, David

I thought that might be the case. I'll do that for now but it would be great to a have a standard 'postpone by one day option'
