Is there a entry shortcut for assigning project?

Similar to the @ label shortcut and the ! priority shortcut, I was wondering if there's a shortcut for assignment to a project. It would be important for all of these shortcuts to work across all frontends (web, mobile, email, native mobile app, etc.).

Hello Joey,

unfortunately, labels or priorities cannot be attached to projects right now, but we will certainly consider adding such option in the future. Thank you for your feedback.

I'm sorry, I don't think I was clear: I'd like to be able to do this when I'm entering a task:

Call David !p1 @Calls ^MyProject

Upon entering the above task in that way the system will:
1) create the task
2) place it in the MyProject project
3) assign it to the Calls label
4) give it a 1 priority

I'd like that same syntax available regardless of the frontend I use (web, mobile, email, native mobile app, etc.)

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. That's a great idea and we will surely add it in the future as well.

Right now, the only alternative is the "quick add" option available under the Ctrl+Q keyboard shortcut (or the + icon in the upper-right corner). It will allow you to add a task from any view and when you hit the "Tab" key twice, you'll get focus on the drop-down menu with your project names which you can navigate using the UpArrow/DownArrow keys.

It's the closest option to "attaching" projects with an in-task syntax right now (it doesn't work when adding tasks via email, though), but we will consider your suggestion for future development.

You're welcome to add it to the Votebox.

Is there an existing VoteBox for this request? If so kindly reply with the link.

(I was looking to do the same thing. I thought maybe #Project would do it? Or does # signify something else?)

Hello George,

I couldn't find a Votebox suggestion for this feature, you're welcome to create one.

This is a good idea. Doit.im allows you to enter

Call David #project @context &tag !priority ^startdate

It would be nice to have it for web as well as all mobile clients.

It has been 3 years, and now you made it even harder on Android due to the material design changes. This is not a trivial would be nice feature request, this is a critical missing piece that interferes with my using your product on a daily basis.

I love many many things about todoist, I have convinced others to switch to it, but now I have to ask - why I am paying you?

I second Chris's surprise that what seems like a relatively simple and obvious feature is not part of what is otherwise a very elegant and well designed product.

I agree and second John and Chris. I used the "tab tab" feature under the Quick add shortcut to assign my tasks to projects. I pay for this service and now with the recent update, it is gone...

For Android users, if you enable Quick Add in Todoist, that will keep a persistent notification. When you click on this notification, the dialog includes a project drop down. So even if the Todoist app is open, I will go to this to add new task, so I can set project.

I hate persistent notifications, I am always trying to minimize what is there so I can see important things, but the trade off in this case, given the lack of other options, was worth it.
