Email sending of tasks not working

S

Hi,

Today, I am trying the email feature to create task. I sent emails to the respective project id & I don't see any tasks added in todoist.

I made sure,
1) same email id as todoist is used to sent email
2) no mail delivery failure

Hello Sharat,

I can't reproduce this issue. Please tell me:
- Are you sending the task from an email address that is listed at the bottom of the window from which you're getting the project's unique address? Please make sure that the address isn't misspelled.
- Does force-reloading the project in Todoist using CTRL+F5 show the task added via email?
- Does this happen only in one project or multiple projects?
- Does this happen only with your primary Todoist email address or did you try adding another address?
- Are you using only the raw email address of a project (only project.1234567@todoist.net and not Project Name <project.1234567@todoist.net>) in your email client?

Best regards,
David

Hi,

I am also experiencing issues with my email of tasks feature. I have always been able to do this before. I have tried both registered email addresses and still not going through.

This has happened on multiple projects.

Best,

Dustyn

[YES]
- Does force-reloading the project in Todoist using CTRL+F5 show the task added via email?
[Pressed CTRL+F5, Still it didn't show up]
- Does this happen only in one project or multiple projects?
[Multiple projects]
- Does this happen only with your primary Todoist email address or did you try adding another address?
[Tried both options]
- Are you using only the raw email address of a project (only project.1234567@todoist.net and not Project Name <project.1234567@todoist.net>) in your email client?
[Tried this option. Still no luck]

Hi Sharat,

I think it was just the one task. It now seems to be working again. I deleted the previous task name and created a new one with the same name and it is now working.

Thanks.

Yes, now it's working. Now this format "<project.1234567@todoist.net>"; is also working. Looks like you fixed something :)
Thanks!

I am also having problems emailing tasks. Yes to all the questions above. This is really frustrating and drastically lowers the value of Todoist Premium for me.

Hello Richard,

unfortunately, we can't reproduce this issue and right now sending tasks via email seems to work fine.

Please try to add a the whole domain through which you're trying to send emails as tasks to the list. For example:

@gmail.com

or

*@gmail.com

When sending a test-task, please use an empty email just with the task name within the subject and no additional parameters such as due dates or labels.

Best regards,
David

My problem is with forwarding already existing emails into Todoist to become tasks.

I tried the empty email test-task. Did not go through.

Richard,

please tell me:
- Have you tested it through different email addresses (added to the list) coming from different domains?
- Was the empty (but with a subject line) test email also forwarded or sent as a new email to the raw address ( project0123456@todoist.net for example) of the project?

Note - it can take a couple of seconds for the email to be processed and a page reload may be necessary as well.

Best regards,
David
