Can I restore check boxes under a big tree?

The check box and the expand/collapse control are very close and sometimes I accidentally click the check box instead of expanding a large branch which checks ALL of the child branches and items. This is very dangerous and destructive and I have to try to recall from my own memory what state they were all in to get them right, which kind of defeats the purpose of letting a computer keep track of it.

unfortunately, it's not possible to directly retrieve the information which of the sub-tasks were completed before you accidentally click on the parent task. You can un-check the main task, though which will restore it along with all sub-tasks, but they will all be checked off.

Premium Members can use the "Completed" list in the top-right corner to see which tasks have been completed in the past and since all sub-tasks that were not completed before would be shown at the top of the least, you could use this list as a reference to see which of them were still open.

We will consider adding an option to undo such action in future development, though. Thank you for pointing out this issue and sorry for any inconvenience.

Or as has been suggested:

Is your 'top level' actually a 'Task' that needs to be completed, or just a title for the list of subtasks collected below?

If the 'top level', or Parent, isn't an Action that can be completed, maybe you could add an asterisk before the name; this will inhibit the creation of a checkbox, so when you are expanding and collapsing the list you will not be able to 'check the box'. You can still add subtasks (sublists) below this top level.
