Multiple Sign-in breaks Gmail integration?

Found an interesting issue. I have multiple sign-in turned on (new advanced feature for Google Accounts). This allows me to use Google Reader with an @gmail.com account, and use my email with my Google Apps domain at the same time.

When I create a task using Todoist (Chrome extension) from my Google Apps account inbox, I get a task that looks like:

[[gmail=GUID@gmail, SUBJECT]]

But when I click on it, it takes me to:

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/...

And it doesn't work (takes me to my @gmail.com inbox at the root) because I believe it's supposed to take me to:

https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/...

The workaround that I've found is that if I change the 2nd 'gmail' above to 'mydomain.com' it actually does the magic correctly.

Are there are any other alternatives other than hacking the string for multiple sign-ins with Gmail? Or will the extension officially support the multiple sign-ins feature?

Hello Mike,

the task should take you to

https://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox/GUID

so it should point directly to the particular linked message with the GUID it uses within the task link.

We have experienced some issues with using Google Apps and also, the "Add email" function doesn't work with multiple GMail accounts.

If you're signing in using two accounts within the gmail.com domain, it may indeed cause certain issues. Thank you for your report, we will address this issue in future development of our plugin and sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you.

It isn't two accounts with @gmail - one is @gmail and the other one is @mydomain. But Gmail will automatically redirect to the URLs above from the one you mentioned, presumably starting with '0' because it assumes that's the primary account when in my case it's not.

Hopefully multiple account sign-in can be supported soon! Thanks.

Mike,
Until Todoist is able to support multiple sign in for google accounts, I discovered this solution that seems to be working just fine, if you can live with the compromises:

Using the Google Chrome browser (my preferred and default browser), I deactivated multiple sign-in so only my @mydomain email account is used on this browser. Then I created a Todoist account using my name and @mydomain email account and downloaded the Todoist Google Chrome extension.

Next, I installed the Firefox browser and repeated the process for my @gmail account and downloaded the Todoist Firefox extension.

I use the @mydomain for business and @gmail account for personal. Everything works as advertised as far as linking/creating tasks from emails, but the compromise is you have to have 2 Todoist accounts and business and personal tasks are in 2 separate places.

Question for the Staff: If I upgrade to premium do I have to purchase 2 upgrades?

Hello Robert,

unfortunately - yes, if you want to have 2 Todoist Premium accounts, each has to be upgraded. We will consider changing the way Todoist handles links to emails placed in different Gmail accounts (or multiple sign-ins) in future development.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

David

Hello,

this issue should be fixed now. Unfortunately, it will not work with emails added before the fix, only those added as of today.

David
