Premium account without subscription?

G

My PayPal account is not verified, as I don't have a debit or credit card. This means I can do "pre-paid" one-time payments with PayPal, but PayPal doesn't allow me to make subscriptions.

Is there an possibility to get a premium account without any recurring payments?

Thanks!

Hello Gandro,

it seems that there has been a PayPal issue for European Customers in particular. It has been fixed now, please try to subscribe again and let me know if you still experience any difficulties using PayPal.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Unfortunately it hasn't solved the issue for me. PayPal still requires a credit or debit card in the case that the transaction amount exceeds my PayPal balance.

PayPal even offers a button to skip the "link a card to make an instant payment" site, but it doesn't seem to work.

I've also chanced by balance currency to US$, but again without success, even though the payment would not exceed my PayPal balance.

Hello Gandro,

I'm sorry you're still experiencing issues with PayPal.

There is indeed a problem with using other payment methods than a credit card for subscription-based payments. We will change it very soon and make a regular yearly payment form available which will most likely fix this issue.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,
David

Hello Gandro,

you can now subscribe to a Premium membership without a credit card. To do so, please go to Preferences -> Todoist Premium and at the bottom of the page, you'll see this text:

"I don't have a credit card, can I still upgrade to premium?
Yes, click here to buy a yearly premium account without subscription. With this PayPal won't require a credit card."

Click on the "click here" link and you'll be able to use a regular payment instead of a subscription.

Best regards,
David
