Checking Task Complete Results Leaves Circling Graphic

BS

Hello -

When I check a task complete, the Check Box associated with the task no longer becomes a checked box graphic with the task text becoming greyed out, but becomes a graphic that circles with animation.

I believe the task is actually registered as completed and this might be only a display issue, as when I reselect what to be shown those completed tasks are no longer shown (as they are now completed).

I had this occur previously - I do not recall what I did (restarted? reloaded? reinstalled?) and it went away.

I am using FireFox 5.0 and the version of To Do that I downloaded just a few minutes ago.

No urgency, just slightly distracting with circles swirling in the project list.

While I have you here, a couple of ideas:
1.) I am one who loves to see the items checked off on what I did for the day. I would like to see an option that tasks completed (checked off) on a day (perhaps selectable) are not automatically removed from the task list when the view is changed. In other words, if I complete a task and I change from project view to another view (e.g., 5 days), the tasks completed that day remain in the task list - moved to be displayed at the bottom of the respective section (project grouping or day grouping, here). Again, only a nice to have, as I like to see those items being checked off the list each day.

2.) I would like to be able to assign the project as one assigns the date, not be required to contextually be in a project to add tasks - I am thinking that this would reduce steps and, at least for me, works better with my work flow thinking. For example, I am going through my inbox and I have an email that I want to convert to be a task, I need to select "Show projects" to show a project in the side bar window, scroll to the bottom of the window, select the envelop graphic, then go back to "Show projects" to return to my preferred task list display.

What I think would be ideal would be to have an "Add Task" and/or "Add Task - Link / Add Task - email" button at the top of the task window that I can select without having to first select Project Display. Then, at the bottom of the little add task dialog, we could be required (or make it optional) to add the Project and, of course, optionally add a date. Adding the task then does not require that the user change the Todoist task window.

Of course, if this can somehow already be done, please do share the approach!

Thanks for help.

Hello Brent,

I assume you're talking about the "Todoist for Firefox" plugin?

Does this issue happen all the time when you check every task?

Does this task have a specific, advanced due date, which may even not be listed here:
https://todoist.com/Help/timeInsert

Do you have any ad- or script-blocking plugins installed? If so, please add Todoist.com on their whitelists or try to disable them.

As for your ideas - thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it. You can cast a vote on the first idea (view completed tasks) here:

You're welcome to post your second idea (assigning a task to a project with a special tag) in out Votebox:

Best regards,
David

Yes, sorry - Firefox plugin with Gmail.

Based on your question and exploring this further (which only started this morning after I made changes to the filter), I note that there is some unusual interaction between displaying both the days and projects in the same project list when the task has a due date.

When I have only "5 days" as the filter, the problem does not occur. If I have "5 days, view all" as the filter, I only have the swirling circle display when I select to complete the task in the "Today" portion of the task list - the box is correctly checked off lower in the list in the associated project field (which happens to be "To Do"). So, in the date selection - swirls, in the project field - checked off. BTW: I can go down to the project grouping and uncheck the task and the swirl goes away back up in the date display.

If I go and check a dated task complete in the project entry, the task is marked as complete visually, but the corresponding task in its date entry above is not checked off as complete.

So you mean the iGoogle plugin? There are 3 options you can use in Firefox:

- Todoist for Firefox (plugin adding a "T" icon in the navigation bar, which opens a window on the left)
- Todoist Anywhere (a link used as a bookmark which opens a Todoist box in the lower left corner
- Todoist for iGoogle (which lets you add a Todoist frame to the iGoogle page)

Anyway, I've been able to reproduce this issue even directly from the Todoist website. You're right, trying to combine "view all" with any other temporal query triggers this bug.

Thank you very much for pointing it out, I'll forward this to the developers.

Sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you.

Best regards,
David

Wow - a lot of options. I am using plugin adding a "T" icon. I'll have to look into the others.

No problem on the issue, a minor one - glad it just is not me!
