Completed tasks - sometimes there, sometimes not

Under some of my projects I can clean up by finding the "delete completed tasks" at the bottom of the page. But in other projects, this button is greyed out and doesn't work. These projects are filling up with completed tasks, and you can't see the data in the noise. Yet in others, when I press the "delete completed" button, some of the completed tasks still hang around, and some are gone. What is going on?

Thanks for making a great product, this has really helped me get organized and get stuff done!

This may have something to do with indented tasks. After experimenting it seems that indented tasks that get checked off, never dissappear until you get rid of the category they are in. This makes for a really cluttered interface. Is there any way to get rid of completed, indented tasks?

Hello Lawrence,

you're right, sub-tasks are not being transferred to the "completed tasks" section because they are treated as parts of the main task.

You can move them using the settings icon on the right of each highlighted task. Choosing "move to history" will put them on the "completed tasks" list, choosing "delete task" will delete them directly.

If you're using some tasks as fixed categories, instead of using sub-tasks, you can set a task using an asterisk * before it, which will create a task without a check box that can be treated as a category, then you can put other tasks underneath it as "level 1" tasks (not sub-tasks of the category).

We will consider changing this in future development so thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it.

Best regards,
